About Us
We are a growing CPA practice serving a diverse range of clients in tax, accounting, and advisory services. As we prepare for the upcoming tax season, we are looking for motivated Tax Associates (Co-op) to join our team from January to April 2026.
This position offers hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment and exposure to real client files, tax preparation software, and the fast-paced nature of public practice during tax season.
Role Description
As a Tax Associate, you will work closely with our accountants and partners throughout the busy tax season. You'll be responsible for preparing personal income tax returns (T1s), organizing client documentation, and ensuring accuracy and completeness in all submissions.
This is an excellent opportunity to strengthen your technical skills and gain valuable insight into tax compliance and client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review personal income tax returns (T1s) using tax preparation software.
- Organize and review client documentation for income, deductions, and credits.
- Communicate with clients to collect missing information or clarify details.
- Assist with e-filing, reviewing notices of assessment, and tracking submissions.
- Support the team with administrative coordination during the tax season.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and strong attention to detail in all work.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in an Accounting, Business, or Finance program.
- Experience preparing personal income tax returns (T1s) — through prior work, co-op, or volunteer roles (e.g., CRA Community Volunteer Program).
- Basic understanding of personal tax concepts (income, deductions, credits, RRSPs, etc.).
- Familiarity with tax preparation software (Profile or similar) is an asset.
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented - able to manage multiple deadlines during peak periods.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
