Description of the Team/Project

The internship will take place in Montreal, Canada, where you will closely work with two Machine Learning Engineers / Data Scientist. You will also be able to interact with our French team made of expert scientists in both quantum and data science. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking research and potentially see your work published in scientific journals

Your Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated third or fourth year undergraduate student, or a graduate student for a research internship developing cutting-edge hybrid quantum-classical algorithms. Projects include developing quantum-assisted machine learning models and applying classical machine learning techniques for quantum. More precisely, you will:

  • Become familiar with the latest advancements in quantum machine learning
  • Design, implement and optimize hybrid quantum machine learning algorithms
Requirements
  • You are currently enrolled in a Canadian university or in a higher education program in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields
  • You have strong hands-on experience in Machine Learning/Deep Learning: implementation and training of neural networks (CNNs, RNNs, Transformers...), good knowledge of optimization techniques and gradient-based learning, experience with data preprocessing techniques and tools
  • You have a robust background in physics
  • You master PyTorch
  • You can propose creative solutions to complex problems
  • You have interest in quantum computing
  • You are curious and love solving problems
  • You have strong communication skills and you are fluent in English (bonus if you speak French)
