Duties
Civil Aviation Safety Inspectors (CASI) - Operational Airworthiness are working in the Civil Aviation Directorate at Transport Canada.

The key activities of this position may require travel locally, regionally, and sometimes nationally or internationally. Typically, many work tasks will be performed in an office or telework environment, or in various indoor and outdoor aviation/industrial environments such as aircraft hangars and airport ramps and under varying weather conditions.
The main office location is 330 Spark Street (Tower C), Ottawa, Ontario. This location is in the Ottawa downtown core and is a close walk to tons of shops, restaurants, gyms and more Take a walk to Parliament Hill during your lunch break or check out some fine-dining options after work just steps away. Transportation, not an issue: Lyon train station is a few feet away and also accessible all through underground indoor pathways so you can avoid stepping outside during the cold winter months.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to establish a pool of fully or partially qualified candidates to staff positions within Transport Canada Civil Aviation group in the National Capital Region.

Education
ED1: A secondary school diploma
ED2: Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma/degree in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to aircraft maintenance and/or manufacturing.
Degree equivalency
Occupational Certification
OC: A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License.
Experience
EX1: Recent* experience:
Holding Aircraft Certifying Authority (ACA) or Shop Certifying Authority (SCA) in a Canadian approved maintenance organization (AMO) and/or holding certifying authority within a Canadian approved manufacturing organization.
Or
Holding supervisory or maintenance control or quality assurance responsibilities in a Canadian AMO, Canadian Air Operator or Canadian approved manufacturer.
- By recent experience, we mean experience that has acquired within the last 6 years.
EX2: Experience of six (6) or more years in industry as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME).
EX3: Experience in the performance of complex activities in a wide variety of situations and demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility throughout your career.

Operational Requirements
Willing and able to occasionally work outside core business hours and on weekends.
Willing and able to occasionally perform inspection and oversight activities in various aviation environments that may be hazardous.

Asset Experience
AEX1: Extensive experience* working in one or more of the following environments:
- Rotor Craft operations
- Airline operations
- Air Taxi operations
- Recreational aircraft
- Manufacturing processes (welding, plating, etc.)
- Avionics maintenance and repair
- Non-destructive testing methods
- Inspection, modification, repair or manufacturing of aeronautical products
- Repair or modification of structures (sheet metal, tubular, composite, etc.).
AEX2: Extensive experience* in the supervision or management of quality programs**.
AEX3: Experience as a Person Responsible for Maintenance or other senior technical manager in an Approved Maintenance Organization.
AEX4: Experience using software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet or presentation software.
