Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and expert in medical billing in Ontario, in particular for 3rd party (insurance) billing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance and OHIP claims, and reconciliation.

Duties

  • Prepare and submit accurate medical claims to insurance companies and government programs.
  • Review patient records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Communicate with insurance providers regarding claim status, denials, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures for accurate billing.
  • Stay informed about changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in 3rd party (insurance) billing.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare billing processes.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and billing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to give advice regarding 3rd party billing.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
