Quality Assurance Technician

Summary of Position:
Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is a part of Quality Management focused on fulfilling quality requirements for current Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Production Practices in a regulated environment. The QC Technician shall be responsible for performing several QC activities in the Production area in conformance with the Cannabis Act and Regulations and implementing the company's inspection program, final checks and balances, sanitation verification and providing process controls and good record keeping. All these functions are an integral aspect of the quality system to produce and sell Cannabis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Inspects all aspects related to Quality Control in the Production area.
· Maintains organization and cleanliness of all production areas of the facility.
· Validates cleaning procedures and ensures Sanitation related SOPs are followed.
· Completes sanitation verifications and record-keeping (day to day, and monthly testing).
· Review and approve product labels.
· Completes process control checks for packaging, labelling, and shipping.
· Completes process control check for weights (weight verifications for all scales).
· Inspects product packages and labels before shipping.
· Ensures all cases, units and boxes from each PO are accounted for prior to shipping.
· Visual quality check of all cannabis goods to deem ready to sell.
· Provides assistance when assembling, shipping, and receiving eBeam shipments when required.
· Completes relevant forms, logs, and other documentation to meet requirements of SOPs and/or other company policies.
· In-process quality monitoring.
· Completes post-harvest weights entry.
· Provides assistance to with monthly/quarterly inventory counts.
· Performs a quality audit every quarter that reviews all aspects of the quality management system.
· Can provide assistance with the destruction of cannabis material when required.
· Provides assistance for batch record data collection and assembly.
· QC review and sign-off on Quality forms.
· Excise stamp reconciliation and tracking of wasted stamps (ensuring that they are put aside and sent to the QAP after every production run).
· Adherence to regulatory compliance with Canadian cannabis legislation, including but not limited to the Cannabis Act and such other regulatory requirements as established by Health Canada.
· Such other tasks as may be assigned by the Company from time to time.
Education and Qualifications:
· A minimum of a high school diploma.
· Experience working in Good Production Practices (GPP) or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulated environments.
· Knowledge in quality and document control.
· Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently.
· Organized and able to handle multiple tasks.
· Self-directed and able to work independently.
· Excellent people skills including listening skills.
· Team oriented attitude.
· Trouble shooting and critical thinking skills.
· Must possess knowledge and aptitude to learn various computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, or other related software programs.
· Strong knowledge of sanitation procedures, chemical specifications, PPE, GMP's/GPP's, cleanliness monitoring and effectiveness programs in a manufacturing environment with regulatory guidelines.
· Good understanding of the Cannabis Act and Regulations.
