General Description

Junior Cost Accountant is responsible to assist in analyzing and controlling costs, preparing cost reports, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze cost data to support customer's quoting process.
  • Prepare cost estimates, and pricing for new product, and maintain accurate and up to date quotes for existing products.
  • Help maintain accurate records of inventory valuation, overhead allocation, and production costs.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist in variance analysis (actual vs. standard costs) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Work closely with operations and procurement to ensure cost accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare cost-related reports and documentation for internal use and audits.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost control and reporting.
  • Other finance duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance - Mandatory
  • Understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
