The Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipper & Receiver to join our team at our Fort Saskatchewan Fabrication Shop. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced industrial environment and will be responsible for the safe, efficient handling of incoming and outgoing materials. This role is key to ensuring the smooth flow of products, materials, and supplies to support shop operations and production schedules.

Duties/Responsibilities

Safely load and unload trucks, using forklifts, handcarts, or other material handling equipmentTransport materials to and from trucks, pallets, shelves, racks, and floor areas, either by hand or with material handling equipmentVerify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, matching materials against packing slips and purchase ordersProperly label, tag, and store materials in designated areas to support shop organization and production needsPrepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentationSchedule and coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight companiesMaintain accurate inventory records and update tracking systems regularlyUse computers and software tools to log shipments, track materials, and generate reportsReport shortages, damages, or discrepancies to management promptlyMaintain a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving areaFollow all company health and safety policies and proceduresSupport production teams by ensuring timely delivery of materials to fabrication areasPerform other related duties as required to support warehouse and shop operations 

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations, preferably in a fabrication or industrial settingValid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract and reliable transportationForklift certification and experience are requiredStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in a physical, hands-on roleProficiency with computers and software, including:Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive) Microsoft ExcelExcellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and documentationStrong communication skills, both written and verbalPositive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a teamFirst Aid certification is an assetMust be legally eligible to work in Canada Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
