THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Housekeeping Lead, the Cleaning Support role is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep, cleaning of assigned lodges and facilities. Assist with set-up and smooth efficient operation of in-house social/special events. Assist other Building Services staff when needed.
We have availability of either 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm to support the operation and cleaning after social/special events.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain relationships with other Club staff.
- Interact and converse with members, guests and other employees in a friendly, courteous manner.
- Work closely with the Housekeeping Lead to co-ordinate cleaning activities with set up and take down of events if applicable.
- Work closely with the Housekeeping Lead to maintain inventory levels of supplies, materials and equipment.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Empty garbage, recycling and compost bins, replace liners as needed.
- Participate in facility opening and closing routines including snow removal and sanding.
- Maintain a positive, co-operative and helpful attitude towards members, guests and other employees.
- Ensure safety and wellness procedures are followed including Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-Secondary education would be an asset.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class "G" Driver's License.
- Strong knowledge of WHMIS.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and to complete tasks efficiently
- First aid certification would be an asset.
- Safety oriented to perform all tasks safely in accordance with the health and safety policies.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform physically demanding activities e.g., vacuuming, furniture moving, up and down stairs, standing for long periods of time, snow shoveling.
- Self-driven, proactive, flexible, adaptable, and able to execute a range of job duties and changing priorities.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and dependability.
- Possess professional maturity and impeccable integrity.
