Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving deli products. This role requires a strong focus on food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for food and enjoy working with customers, we want to hear from you

Duties

  • Prepare and serve deli items, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, sweets and hot food while ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
  • Sanitize work areas and equipment regularly to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for cash handling and processing customer transactions accurately.
  • Engage with customers by upselling products and providing recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Maintain inventory levels by monitoring stock and assisting with ordering and receiving product.
  • Assist in store operations, including stocking product and processing customer transactions.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
  • Train and coach new/previous hires as required
  • Maintain a high standard of service and excellence at all times

Requirements

  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately.
  • Experience in cashiering or cash handling preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices is essential
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to deli operations.
  • Some supervisory experience is an asset
