Electrical Engineer – Power System Studies

You'll work on challenging projects involving power flow, short circuit, dynamic analysis and compliance studies, while working with multidisciplinary teams and clients. - Perform electrical studies such as power flow, short circuit, dynamic analysis and harmonic analysis
- Model and analyze power systems using tools like PSS/E, PSLF, ETAP, ASPEN and PSCAD
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications and proposals
- Collaborate with clients and project teams to meet scope, schedule and budget requirements
- Assist or lead technical proposal development for study opportunities
- Contribute to FACTS and HVDC control system design, including STATCOM and inverter-based renewable generation.

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. in electrical engineering (power systems specialization)
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in power systems and studies
- Proficiency with power system software (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD)
- Experience performing studies such as power flow, short circuit, and dynamic and transient analysis
- Experience with Python
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with EMTP, ASPEN and/or RTDS
- Knowledge of electrical protection and control systems
- Familiarity with IEEE, NEC or IEC standards
