Please Note: Due to the specialized nature of this position, the successful applicant, if currently a continuing appointee with Prince George School District, may be 'seconded' to this position thereby having the assurance to return to his/her position.
Curriculum & Innovation provides professional learning opportunities, resources & support for SD57 staff aligning with district goals. The Curriculum & Innovation Support Teacher will work directly with teachers throughout the school district, particularly in support of collaborative learning teams in our schools. This position may be embedded into a school site. The successful candidate will work closely with other members in Curriculum & Innovation.
Technology for Learning portfolio supports teacher and learning support staff in growing understanding and proficiency of utilizing educational technology to enhance student learning, including differentiation, assessment, and cross-curriculum learning, and Office 365.
The Curriculum Innovation Support Teacher will collaborate to…
- Support educators throughout the school district, with professional growth and use of technology to support student learning
- Update and maintain district and school websites
- Design and implement professional development opportunities for educators, including learning support staff
- Operationalize the district goals in support of learning
Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting technology for learning with both teachers, education assistants, and students
- Demonstrate proficient knowledge of using various applications on PC's and IPADS to support student learning
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, specifically Large Language Models, and how it can support student learning
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience with Office 365
- Demonstrated exemplary success in delivering current BC Curricular Competencies and Content (Learning Standards) in current teaching assignment
- Demonstrated ability and experience in using sound lesson design, differentiation, and inclusive instructional strategies
- Demonstrated ability and experience delivering small and large group professional development
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in embedding the First Peoples' Principles of Learning in lesson planning and design
- Demonstrate ability to participate as an effective member of a team and to provide service to others
- Demonstrated success in mentoring other teachers and learning support staff
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with educators at multiple grade levels (K-12)
- A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
- Applicants must possess a valid BC Driver's License and have the use of a vehicle
- Master's Degree or Diploma in Curriculum or related field preferred

About School District 57
School District No.57 resides on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nations, McLeod Lake Indian Band and the Simpcw First Nations.
Geographically we expand from Mackenzie, through Prince George, to McBride and Valemount. We serve 41 schools: 32 Elementary schools, 8 Secondary schools and 1 District Learning Support center for alternative and alternate learning opportunities.
We provide educational programs for approximately 15,000 students inclusive of early learning, after school art and sports programing, trades programs, and dual credit programs with our local post-secondary schools.
