About Us

Maven TechLab delivers cutting-edge STEM education to children across Vancouver through robotics, coding, AI exploration, and now Drone Technology programs. Our goal is to make advanced tech fun and accessible for young learners through hands-on learning experiences.

Position Overview

We are looking for a Drone Instructor who is passionate about flight technology and STEM education. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building and flying drones and enjoys guiding students through hands-on projects in aerodynamics, coding, and flight control.

This position includes teaching after-school sessions as well as leading full-day Drone Camps during winter, spring, and summer breaks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach drone fundamentals, flight safety, and aerodynamics to students ages 8–14.
  • Lead interactive workshops where students assemble and pilot drones in safe environments.
  • Guide students through problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on building challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain classroom safety.
  • Collaborate with Maven TechLab to refine and expand the Drone Camp curriculum.
  • Communicate student progress and camp highlights to parents and program coordinators.

Qualifications

  • Experience building, programming, and flying drones (required).
  • Teaching or mentorship experience with youth (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of flight controllers, sensors, or FPV systems (an asset).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Reliable transportation to schools or camp sites in Vancouver.
  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (required before start).
