Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, safety standards, and team management. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining food quality, and adhering to all health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Manager will play a vital role in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a positive work environment within our restaurant or hospitality setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure high-quality standards.
- Manage kitchen staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste and control costs.
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling.
- Ensure consistent food presentation and taste by adhering to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent customer service experiences.
- Enforce health codes and safety protocols to create a safe working environment for staff and guests.
- Assist in developing menus or specials in collaboration with culinary staff when needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership roles with supervising experience.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms; cash handling experience is essential.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
- Previous experience in hospitality or hotel environments is preferred; barista or serving experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including inventory control, food handling, and customer service excellence.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to interview candidates and build effective teams.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing daily operations.
