Litigation Paralegal – Civil Litigation, Construction Litigation and Foreclosures

Location: Delta, BC

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Legalbird is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. This position is ideal for a litigation professional looking to advance their career in a collaborative, supportive and high-performing environment. Our practice includes a broad range of civil disputes with a strong focus on foreclosure litigation as well as business, commercial, real property and construction matters.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will work closely with our litigation lawyers and paralegals, contributing to files from initial intake through to resolution. This role offers mentorship, exposure to a wide range of litigation matters, and the ability to focus on quality work. There are no billable targets for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting letters, pleadings, applications and other court documents
  • Coordinating discoveries, chambers applications, hearings and trial dates
  • Preparing, organizing, and managing document lists and litigation materials
  • Conducting witness interviews and preparing summaries
  • Managing file organization, bring-forward systems and file openings/closings
  • Assisting with invoicing and general administrative tasks
  • Collaborating with senior litigation paralegals and lawyers for guidance and support

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • Paralegal Diploma or Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years of civil litigation experience including significant general civil litigation exposure

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with real property litigation
  • Familiarity with LEAP and CLIO
  • Exposure to foreclosure and construction disputes
  • Conversational Punjabi

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
