As a Business Development Associate, you will provide administrative and sales support to one of our Regional Sales Teams. You will assist our sales teams in achieving sales targets by developing a thorough understanding of the needs of each territory, participating in business development activities, and working directly with Advisors and Brokers to fulfill requests. You will work with the sales team to continually grow positive external advisor and broker relationships through targeted campaigns, and by promoting strategies and solutions relevant to our external business partners.
Position Responsibilities:
Marketing & Sales Support (40%)
- Manage advisor communications via email and phone queue.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve advisor/client issues.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives, including events and service escalations.
- Assist Broker Channel with onboarding/offboarding and rate exceptions.
Sales Reporting & Email Campaigns (30%)
- Create and deploy targeted email campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Generate and analyze sales reports to monitor activity and performance.
- Maintain Inside Sales resources and assist with calendar and meeting logistics.
Business Development & Strategic Growth (20%)
- Organize advisor-facing events and presentations to strengthen relationships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support promotional initiatives and webinars.
Product Knowledge (10%)
- Participate in roleplays and shadowing to deepen product expertise.
- Understand regulatory channels and their impact on communications.
General Support & Collaboration
- Act as a liaison across departments to ensure smooth execution of sales strategies and advisor engagement.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education is required
- Adept written and oral communication is required
- Strong PC skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in banking or financial planning is an asset
- Experience with Salesforce is preferred
- Takes initiative, is a positive influence and thrives in a fast-paced work environment – a fast learner and self-starter
- Flexible and adaptable to change, including changing priorities and tight deadlines
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
