Qualifications

Excellent cooking/ baking skills.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work unsupervised and show independent initiative.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Education and Experience

Previous work experience in commercial kitchen preferred.

Experience working with seniors an asset.

Must be current with WHMIS and Food Safe courses.

Competence in the use of the English language- ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Valid Criminal Record Check Due at point of hire.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Represent The Palisades with a positive and courteous attitude.

Support the mission and initiatives of the organization.

Work under the directive of our Red Seal Chef and Food Services Supervisor.

Demonstrate a willingness to be flexible with assigned duties.

Adhere to health and safety standards.

Perform tasks such as prep work, plating out, baking and if necessary cooking meals.

Perform some service tasks such as clearing tables or serving food when necessary.

Maintain the cleanliness of food service and dining areas and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met.

Receive food and beverage deliveries.

Complete other job related tasks as assigned by the Food Services Supervisor and/or Housing Manager.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.85-$20.25 per hour
