Within the Diagnostic Services Department, the Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of Human Resources, performing quality management responsibilities, managing the department's financial resources, performing corporate management responsibilities that support and advance HHSC's goals and performing all cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested. The Director will be required to collaborate with other programs, e.g. clinical units, the University, and other programs for mutual problem solving and performance improvement projects. This individual will need to be responsive to the clinical needs of all hospital campuses.

Monday – Friday Days

This position is temporary until June 2026.

1. Masters level preparation or other relevant education preferred. At minimum a background in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent is required. Experience in multi site academic Diagnostic Imaging environment. In-depth knowledge of imaging technologies and information systems e.g. PACS.
2. 5 to 10 years of related experience in Diagnostic Imaging and Management
3. Demonstrated effective strategic, analytical and decision making abilities
4. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team building and the ability to initiate and model positive change
5. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodology.
6. Demonstrated commitment to the Values of Service, Responsible Stewardship, Community Responsiveness and Respect.
7. Ability to lead in an environment that supports clinical excellence, continuous learning, innovation and research
8. Comfortable with use of financial and human resources operating systems.
9. Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.

The Director, Diagnostic Services (Director) will work in collaboration with the Chief Radiologist, Chief Nuclear Medicine and Chief Medical Diagnostic Unit (MDU) to lead the implementation of the strategic plan for Diagnostic Services. In partnership with the Chief Radiologist, Chief Nuclear Medicine, and Chief of MDU, the Director will be responsible for the administrative and medical services offered at all of the Hamilton Health Sciences (HHSC) hospitals. 

Diagnostic Services is comprised of Diagnostic Imaging, Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology, Neuro/Cardiac Diagnostics with over 500 FTEs as well as medical Fellows and residents.
