Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent attention to detail, and a positive attitude. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced culinary setting and contribute to delivering high-quality service to our guests.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients under supervision
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Stock and organize supplies, ingredients, and utensils to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks as needed
  • Dispose of waste properly and ensure proper storage of perishable items
  • Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
  • Assist with dishwashing duties, including cleaning pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen tools
  • Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate loads (up to 50 pounds)
  • Knowledge of basic food safety practices is advantageous but not mandatory
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to develop culinary skills are highly valued

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
