About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Prepress Manager to oversee our afternoon shift production operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who excels in managing people, optimizing workflow, and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency in a fast-paced print production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all prepress activities on the afternoon shift.
  • Manage a team of prepress operators and technicians, ensuring smooth handoff between shifts.
  • Oversee file preparation, proofing, plating, color management, and job scheduling.
  • Ensure all projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and client specifications.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot prepress software and equipment
  • Collaborate with production, pressroom, and customer service teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Monitor workflow and recommend process improvements to maximize productivity.
  • Enforce safety and quality control policies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of prepress or printing industry experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of prepress systems
  • Familiarity with offset and/or digital printing workflows.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work afternoon shift hours and occasional overtime if required.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with relevant software tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.'
