Toronto Foundation for Youth Involvement in Politics (TFYIP) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to increasing youth engagement in politics through our youth political engagement institute and TFYIP Youth Issues Forum event programming. Our mission is to empower youth voices and encourage active participation in political processes. Role Description
This is a volunteer remote role for a Corporate Secretary.
The Volunteer Corporate Secretary will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of board meetings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, planning and coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence on behalf of the board. The role includes preparing meeting agendas, distributing meeting materials, keeping minutes of meetings, and maintaining the organization's official documents. The position requires effective communication with board members and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience in administrative roles, including minute-taking, meeting coordination, and document management
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and corporate governance practices
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Familiarity with non-profit organizations is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field is advantageous
