The Division provides a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, transportation and moving expense reimbursement, subsidized housing or housing allowance and isolation allowance in qualifying communities, annual travel reimbursement, reimbursement for approved courses and more

The adult education program is situated in Norway House, Manitoba at the former Norway House High School which also houses the UCN Regional Centre, Frontier School Division's Applied Technology and "Try a Trade" Programs. Norway House is a thriving community situated at the picturesque tip of Lake Winnipeg and the Nelson River. The community is fully serviced with a hospital, shopping mall, two community recreation complexes, a post-secondary campus and daily air service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Experience teaching adults and knowledge of adult learning principles
  • An academic generalist who is familiar with literacy and numeracy instruction and is also proficient in both the current English Language Arts and Mathematics Grade 9-12 Manitoba curriculum
  • Experience working in a northern community
  • An individual who is outgoing, flexible and self-motivated
  • Ability to cultivate a positive and successful learning environment
  • A sound knowledge of and experience with school-based technology
