We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Data Administrator to join our innovative data management team. Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize databases using Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other relational database management systems to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.
- Must have experience using OODA Software
- Design and implement scalable data warehouse architectures that support large-scale data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to facilitate efficient data integration from diverse sources such as Hadoop clusters, AWS cloud environments, and linked data repositories.
- Utilize SQL extensively for querying, reporting, and troubleshooting database issues; leverage Bash scripting on Unix/Linux systems for automation tasks.
- Build interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau to enable insightful data analysis for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective database designs and analytical solutions.
- Support machine learning initiatives by preparing datasets in Python or Java, ensuring quality and consistency for model training.
- Implement best practices in database design, performance tuning, and security protocols aligned with Agile methodologies.
- Monitor system performance metrics; troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime or disruptions.
- Contribute to the development of data governance policies ensuring compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies such as Spark, Hadoop ecosystem tools (e.g., Hive), AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift), and linked data standards to enhance our data infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing relational databases including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, ETL processes, and database design principles.
- Hands-on experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting; experience with Bash (Unix shell scripting) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS for storage (S3), computing (EC2), or data warehousing (Redshift).
- Skilled in visualization tools such as Tableau for creating dynamic reports and dashboards.
- Programming skills in Python or Java for developing machine learning models or automation scripts.
- Familiarity with linked data concepts and semantic web standards to enable interconnected datasets integration.
- Experience working within Agile teams; excellent analysis skills to interpret complex datasets effectively.
- Ability to design scalable databases considering future growth; understanding of database security best practices.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across technical teams and business units.
