The Successful Candidate Will

  • Have university qualifications and/or successful teaching experience in teaching English at a secondary level
  • Have university qualification and/or successful teaching experience as a Teacher-Librarian and above listed subject areas
  • Have experience and qualifications in the design, creation and delivery of Online Learning Courses such as Career Life Education / Career Life Connections and Capstone
  • Have experience in delivering courses through a course management system such as Moodle and Office 365
  • Be able to teach other graduation program courses as required
  • Have experience in developing personalized learning plans with parents
  • Be familiar with the BC Grad Program in order to effectively provide academic counsel to students
  • Have a strong understanding of the principles of Distributed Learning Education
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability and desire to work collaboratively with the school staff, parents and broader community
  • Be sensitive to the unique needs of home school learners and families
  • Be able to monitor and report on student progress using current assessment strategies, including formative and criterion referenced assessment
  • Be able to communicate with other schools regarding accessing learning resources, learning opportunities (DL courses, field trips, extra-curricular activities, etc.)
  • Be committed to working as a cooperative, collaborative member of a school wide instructional

team attend meetings as required

  • Be committed to consultation, parent conferences, and positive home/school/community liaison

SALARY:
The starting annual salary for

full-time teaching position ranges from $62,718 to $110,161, with placement on

the range based on length of services and qualification in accordance with the

collective agreement. Additionally, $3,035 annually as a Remote & Rural

Allowance. ( July 1, 2025 Salary

adjustments will be implemented once the BCTF/BVTU collective agreement has

been finalized and ratified by all parties.)
