Job Overview

SFX Transport is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable processes for itself and it's subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role requires an understanding of accounting principles, as well as a strong attention to detail.

Duties

  • Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes related to accounts payable.
  • Utilize accounting software for data entry and transaction management.
  • Maintain vendor relationships by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Conduct analysis of accounts payable data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Support payroll management functions as needed, including data entry related to employee expenses and receipts.
  • Expense reconciliation for various departments and needs.
  • Assist in maintaining and auditing physical inventory of parts.
  • Assist with data entry and analysis for the company fuel program.

Experience

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial concepts such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and journal entries is essential.
  • Experience with accounting software is a must, experience with TruckMate Software is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of public accounting practices, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation effectively.
  • Proficiency in data entry and 10 key typing skills to ensure accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Previous experience in payroll management or benefits administration will be beneficial.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
