We are currently looking for a Product Manager to join our busy and growing manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be engaged in elevating the department and company to the next level. The incumbent will be forward looking and thrive in a culture of continuous improvement.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Reporting directly to the VP Product Realization, the Product Manager will be a product expert of the Romet offerings. In this role, they will be dynamic and strategic as they build out our IoT based products incorporating data from our natural gas meters and ensuring that our connectivity technologies, cloud instance, and software products produce value for our customers and how they run their business. This position does not have any direct reports.

Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Define and communicate product vision and strategy addressing connected devices, cloud platforms, and system integrations
  • Develop business cases that consider hardware-software co-development, ecosystem partnerships, and scalability challenges
  • Engage with users and customers to understand device usage patterns, data needs, and operational environments
  • Monitor emerging technologies and standards that impact device inter-operability, security, and performance
  • Guide product roadmaps that coordinate hardware development, firmware updates, and cloud service enhancements
  • Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure seamless product function from device to data analytics and user applications
  • Lead pilot testing focusing on device reliability, network performance, and user experience
  • Integrate secure onboarding processes, encrypted communications, and firmware maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to connected device deployments
  • Align marketing and sales strategies to emphasize unique value propositions such as remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data driven insights
  • Track product performance using operational metrics (e.g. device uptime, data accuracy) and customer feedback to inform iterative improvements
  • Plan and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches, collaborating with marketing, sales, and other departments
  • Customer engagement and insight – act as a key liaison with customers to understand their need and emerging priorities
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • All of duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Leadership skills to inspire and motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive alignment toward shared objectives
  • Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time
  • Strong technical insight, business acumen, and the ability to foster close relationships with customers to ensure product-market fit and long-term success
  • Creative and innovative approach to building and scaling from the ground up and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Critical thinking with a customer focused approach
  • Proficient in product management software such as Jira, Aha, Microsoft Project for task and project tracking
  • Skilled in data analysis tools like Excel and SQL for interpreting product metrics and customer data
  • Experience working with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Familiarity with customer feedback platforms and analytics tools like Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude
  • Comfortable using collaboration and communication tools including Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and version control systems such as Git
  • Knowledge of APIs, web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript fundamentals), or IoT platforms relevant to the product domain

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • College or University degree (BA or Business Degree) in Mechanical Engineering or Business/Marketing program
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience preferred
  • Technical background, with experience in the natural gas industry, manufacturing, and within a similar role
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and modern product tools
  • Experience working closely with customers, translating their needs into scalable solutions
  • Awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies with the ability to evaluate their relevance and potential value
