Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier is looking for a
HR Generalist / Labour Relations
to join their team.

NOTE:

  • 12-month contract; potential for long term employment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting both employees and leadership across all HR functions through strong labour relation building
  • Investigate grievances following collective agreement
  • Conduct and document workplace investigations regarding performance, misconduct, and/or harassment, and provide recommendations
  • Provide guidance to Supervisors on employee relations matters, including attendance, misconduct, collective agreement interpretation, and policy application
  • Performing full-cycle recruitment for salaried and hourly positions, including onboarding and orientation
  • Coordinate employee training, certification requirements, and workshops
  • Deliver training sessions for both hourly employees and management
  • Manage absenteeism reporting and case management for WSIB and STD/LTD claims
  • Oversee accommodation and return-to-work processes in compliance with legislation
  • Develop, organize, and implement employee engagement and community initiatives
  • Analyze HR processes and recommend improvements
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Promote and model a safe, positive, and inclusive workplace culture

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources; CHRP designation (or actively pursuing) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience in a unionized environment; manufacturing experience is an asset
  • At least 3 years of experience in labour relations building and grievance or employee behaviour investigations
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting full-cycle hourly and salaried recruitment
  • 3+ years of experience managing WSIB and STD/LTD claims
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA)
  • Experience leading employee engagement initiatives
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ADP and Synerion is an asse
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and service-focused
  • Ability to work onsite at the plant full-time
