Quality Assurance Assistant (Entry-Level / Graduate Opportunity)

Department: Quality Assurance (QA)
Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated recent graduate or soon-to-be graduate to join our Quality Assurance team as a QA Assistant. This is a hands-on role that supports daily quality, food safety, and documentation activities in a food manufacturing environment. The position is ideal for someone looking to gain real industry experience and grow within the QA field.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support with Food Safety & Company Policies
- Assist in verifying employee compliance with hygiene, PPE, and food safety requirements.
- Help communicate reminders and basic guidance to staff when needed.
- Report any issues to the QA Supervisor.
2. Support with SOP Monitoring
- Learn and understand the company's SOPs for production, sanitation, and packaging.
- Observe processes and help ensure procedures are being followed.
- Flag any deviations to the QA Supervisor.
3. Basic Product Quality Checks
- Perform simple inspections such as:
- net weight checks
- fill-level verification
- label accuracy
- lot code correctness
- temperature or pH checks (as trained)
- Record results on QA forms.
4. Documentation & Traceability Support
- Help complete and organize production and packaging records.
- Assist with lot code verification and basic traceability tasks.
- File documents and maintain digital/physical QA records.
5. Inventory & Storage Checks (Quality Perspective)
- Assist in checking:
- expiration dates
- batch codes
- stock rotation (FIFO)
- cleanliness and organization in storage areas
- Report any observations to QA leadership.
6. Support Food Safety Programs
- Help with GMP and sanitation verifications.
- Assist during internal inspections and pre-operational checks.
- Help prepare materials for audits (HACCP, CFIA) under supervision.
7. Incident & Deviation Reporting Support
- Record basic observations of non-conformities.
- Support QA team in collecting information for investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Help document issues in standard forms.
Skills & Qualifications
- Recent graduate or final-year student of:
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Comfort working in a food production environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety is an asset, but training will be provided.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
