Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Transportation Data Entry Specialist to support our logistics and transportation operations. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately entering, maintaining, and verifying transportation-related data into internal systems and databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on data accuracy, an understanding of logistics workflows, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will also be introduced and work producing transportation load plans.

This position is ideal for candidates looking for an entry level position in the transportation industry that has potential to lead to a full-time contract position.

Duties

  • Accurately input transportation data such as shipment details, freight bills, delivery times, carrier information, and route changes into internal systems.
  • Maintain and update transportation logs and schedules.
  • Review and verify documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and tracking records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with dispatchers, drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate data reporting.
  • Monitor shipments and enter status updates into tracking systems.
  • Identify and correct data discrepancies or report them to supervisors.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports related to transportation metrics and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Skills

  • Proven office experience with a focus on administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in databases and data management practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Excellent computer skills, including typing proficiency and familiarity with clerical tasks.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry with attention to detail.
  • Experience in filing systems and maintaining organized records.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.55-$25.03 per hour
