Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Transparency & Knowledge Development (≈50%)
  • Act as the primary content creator for HazardHub's data, model, and API knowledge resources — exploring the product, asking questions, and uncovering insights that make complex concepts clear and usable.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across engineering (APIs), data development, and data science to document data schemas, model logic, and integration workflows.

  • Develop and maintain a clear information architecture for HazardHub's data and model content, organizing it for both internal and external audiences.

  • Create and update self-service reference materials that empowers employees, and external stakeholders to understand and apply HazardHub data independently.

  • Produce structured content such as model explainability guides, change management white papers, data sheets,  internal and external FAQs

  • Partner closely with the Tech Pubs, Marketing, and Engineering teams to publish documentation through existing tools, workflows, and governance — ensuring consistency with Guidewire's documentation standards.

  • Continuously refine and validate content through SME feedback, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and alignment with evolving models and applications.

  • Write occasional thought leadership content on natural hazards and climate change impacts, tied to our product portfolio

  • Contribute to a unified, searchable knowledge ecosystem by transforming institutional knowledge into organized, accessible documentation that reflects HazardHub's domain expertise.

  • Contribute to internal style guides and documentation best practices.

Product Management (≈50%)
  • Serve as Product Owner for customer-facing API and application workflows — defining requirements, acceptance criteria, and priorities for feature enhancements.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, data development, data science, and UX teams to define user stories and manage sprint execution.

  • Drive feature development for applications and integrations that make data and models more transparent, accessible, and actionable.

  • Partner with the Data & Model Product Manager to ensure model and dataset improvements are clearly surfaced through APIs and application interfaces.

  • Validate product behavior against requirements, ensuring release readiness and a seamless handoff to documentation and customer-facing teams.

  • Conduct lightweight customer discovery and feedback sessions to validate upcoming features and inform roadmap priorities.

Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of Industry experience in product management, documentation, or API/data product enablement.

  • Strong curiosity and learning mindset — comfortable exploring the product, testing APIs, and interviewing SMEs to uncover how things work.

  • Strong writing and editing skills with a clear, engaging communication style

  • Excellent writing, structuring, and storytelling skills; able to explain technical or scientific topics clearly and precisely.

  • Passion for science, technology, or data-driven problem solving.

  • Strong ability to organize complex information and define content structure and information architecture.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Self-starter who can manage time, organize tasks, and move projects forward with minimal supervision.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Technical Communication, English, Science, or Computer Science preferred.

  • Familiarity with documentation tools such as Markdown, Git, or Confluence is helpful but not required.

  • Detail-oriented self-starter who thrives on clarity, precision, and continuous learning.

Preferred Experience:
  • Interest or background in property and casualty insurance, environmental risk assessment, or geospatial data.

  • Experience documenting APIs, software tools, or data products.

What We Offer:
