Our client is an international market-leading manufacturer of industrial piping and fluid management solutions, serving a wide range of sectors including energy, water treatment, chemicals, food and beverage, and high-tech manufacturing. They are growing rapidly in Canada, and as a result, are seeking to expand their sales leadership structure through the addition of a National Sales Manager position.

JOB SUMMARY

The organization is looking for a
National Sales Manager
to lead its Canadian industrial sales team. This is a player-coach role that reports to the National Sales Director. The successful candidate is responsible for developing National sales strategies that exceed industrial sales targets, producing profitable revenue growth. You will build, lead and develop a high-performing National sales team (4 direct reports currently), while managing a region hands-on (players-coach) – targeting the industrial construction sector. With success, the team will grow, and this position will evolve into a full-time National leadership position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement national sales strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitor market trends and customer needs to guide priorities and decisions.
  • Track sales performance and analyze data to optimize results.

Client & Territory Management

  • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients while identifying new opportunities.
  • Prioritize accounts and territories to maximize coverage and impact.
  • Measure and report on territory performance, including revenue and market share.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team.
  • Set clear goals, monitor performance metrics, and encourage continuous improvement.
  • Promote a customer-focused, results-driven team culture.

Partner & Channel Development

  • Build strong partnerships with distributors and other channel partners.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities in untapped markets.

Field Engagement & Representation

  • Attend client sites, trade shows, and industry events to represent the company.
  • Deliver technical presentations and training to support brand presence.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, client interactions, and field insights.

Customer Support & Product Knowledge

  • Provide basic technical guidance and product education to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service.
  • Share customer insights and feedback to support product development and improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary education in engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in B2B technical sales.
  • Proven track record in account and territory management.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and CRM skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and passport; ability to travel approximately 30%.
  • Knowledge of piping, fluid management, or related industrial solutions is an asset.
