ACCOUNTING CLERK | full-time permanent, onsite at Stoney Trail Mazda

The Accounting Clerk at Stoney Trail Mazda is critical to the business operations of the organization and works closely with the finance and management teams. This role is dedicated to ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently by processing high volumes of accounts payable transactions, reconciling payment and vendor accounts, and other administrative tasks to support the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors and suppliers, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with company policies.

  • Data Entry: Enter invoice details, including amounts, payment terms, and expense categorization, into the accounting software.

  • Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, obtain missing documentation, and ensure timely payments.

  • Expense Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues promptly.

  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments, which may include checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers, in compliance with payment terms.

  • Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions and related documents.

  • Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including accounts payable aging reports and cash flow analysis.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial and accounting policies and regulations, both internally and externally.

  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Handle ad hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned by the Accounts Payable Manager or the Finance Department.

Skills, Abilities, and Education Required:

  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role with high volumes of transaction processing is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in using spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel, ADP, CDK).
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn and use various technology.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work proactively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and team interactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices

Schedule and Location: This full-time permanent role works primarily in-office at Stoney Trail Mazda from Monday to Friday.
