To be successful as our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RN, you will:
- Hold a current registration as a Registered Nurses (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Hold current Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Have current certification with either a Long-term Care – Certificate in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) or Certificate in Infection Control (CIC) through Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), or willing to obtain in 12 months.
- Act as a Specialist Leader pertaining to all aspects of infection prevention and control, including but not limited to outbreak management, auditing, infection surveillance, continuous quality improvement, etc.
- Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members, caregivers, volunteers, students, visitors, and residents.
- Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up to date knowledge of the regulations specific to infection control.
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
- Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role.
- Have three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting.
- Experience working with people living with Dementia and understand how to support individuals expressing Personal Expressions.
- Work with the interdisciplinary team to ensure implementation of the IPAC program across all program areas.
It would be an asset if our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RN has
:
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and Health & Safety.
- Experience in Geriatric nursing.
- Education and Experience in IPAC practices including: infectious disease, cleaning, disinfecting, data collection, trend analysis, outbreak management, reporting protocol, asepsis, microbiology, epidemiology, program management & adult education or willing to complete an IPAC Canada endorsed or sponsored course.
