National Health and Safety Manager

We're seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to lead and manage our occupational health and safety programs across multiple provinces. This role is key to fostering a safe and compliant workplace culture. This is a full-time, permanent position. The ideal candidate will be based in either Calgary or Edmonton, AB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety management system.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with multi-provincial legislation and regulations.
- Create and enforce safety policies and procedures to protect employees and assets.
- Drive safety awareness through internal communications and culture-building initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and report safety data; prepare monthly and annual reports.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and manage corrective actions.
- Administer safety training programs and maintain training records.
- Collaborate with HR and external partners to deliver targeted education and maintain Learning Management System content.
- Manage health & safety vendors and insurance claims related to property and vehicles.
- Support hazard assessments and develop procedures to mitigate risks.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree, diploma, or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, with at least five years of work experience, preferably in an industrial facility (e.g., distribution warehouse, mechanical repair shop, manufacturing) or comparable environment.
- Additional safety certifications and/or COR audit experience/certification is beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and experience in safety program development, training delivery, and incident investigation.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Comprehensive PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
