Rate of pay: As per the CUPE Collective Agreement ($28.82)

Effective immediately

(5 hours per day)

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.

  • Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Applicants must be a minimum age of 19 years of age, have a current Nova Scotia Operator's License Class 2B with air brake endorsement.
  • Clean driving record and up-to date medical and vision tests.
  • Applicants should possess good communication skills and demonstrate reliability and high moral conduct.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports operations in the Kings County area.
  • Responsible for safe and orderly transportation of students with disabilities on assigned route.
  • Operating seventy-two passenger school buses with air brakes on assigned routes and extracurricular trips.
  • Responsibility for safety and discipline of passengers.
  • Daily routine maintenance including cleaning, washing and pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.

Training in basic First Aid/CPR and experience operating a school bus on all kinds of roads and during all weather conditions is required.
