Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical work, including residential and commercial experience. This role requires proficiency in various electrical systems, including high and low voltage, as well as a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Journeyperson will be responsible for executing electrical installations, renovations, and maintenance tasks on construction sites while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute projects accurately.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Conduct tests using an ohmmeter and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Perform renovation work that may involve frame carpentry alongside electrical installations.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and the NEC guidelines during all work activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Experience

Candidates should have:

  • Proven experience as an industrial or commercial electrician.
  • Familiarity with low voltage systems and high voltage installations.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
  • Experience working on construction sites with a focus on renovation projects.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively.
  • A background in maintenance person services is considered an asset. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42.88 per hour
