Senior Accountant
for an
8-month contract
with a well-established organization in the
industry sector
. This is a
hybrid role
requiring
3 days onsite in Toronto
and 2 days remote.


Position Overview:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the full-cycle accounting process, ensuring accurate month-end reporting, and supporting financial decision-making through reconciliations and analysis. You will also assist with ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end
    financial statements
    in compliance with accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS)
  • Perform detailed
    account reconciliations
    including bank, intercompany, accruals, and prepaids
  • Execute the
    full month-end close process
    , including journal entries and adjustments
  • Assist with
    variance analysis
    and financial reporting packages
  • Handle
    ad hoc financial analysis
    and support internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure accurate financial data


Qualifications:

  • CPA or CA designation is required
  • Minimum of
    5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
    , preferably in an industry (non-public practice) setting
  • Strong working knowledge of
    Excel
    including
    pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas/functions
    (Index Match, Sumifs, etc.)
  • Experience with large ERP systems is an asset (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
