Senior UI Developer / Tech Lead

(React & TypeScript Focus)

You will be joining a team of engineers, designers, and creators who care deeply about user experience, system performance, and clean architecture. As our UI Tech Lead, you'll help shape the technical direction of our front-end stack, lead browser developers, and contribute hands-on to delivering elegant, high-performance browser interfaces.

Our office is located in Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Candidates must be available to work on-site and collaborate closely with the team in person.

Responsibilities:


• Design, develop, and maintain browser-based user interfaces using React and TypeScript


• Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code — this is a hands-on development role


• Lead and mentor browser developers, guiding them through technical challenges, reviews, and best practices


• Translate UI/UX designs from Figma into responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect components


• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and backend engineers and AI developers to deliver exceptional user experiences


• Define and maintain front-end architecture, coding standards, and reusable UI patterns


• Integrate RESTful APIs and manage asynchronous data flows in the UI


• Ensure performance, accessibility, and reliability across browsers and devices


• Implement and maintain end-to-end tests using Cypress to ensure consistent, stable releases


• Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and team-wide code reviews

Qualifications:


• 5+ years of professional experience building production-quality web applications


• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field


• Proven experience in React and TypeScript — our primary technology stack


• Experience building reusable UI components, component libraries, or design systems


• Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor developers in front-end or browser UI development


• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles


• Proficiency in Cypress for automated end-to-end testing


• Hands-on experience with CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS, Material UI, or Bootstrap


• Experience working with Figma for design implementation


• Familiarity with client-side state management (Context API, Redux, or similar)


• Proficiency with modern tooling (npm, Webpack, Git)


• Good communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

Nice to Have


• Familiarity with Jest or React Testing Library


• Some experience with the Java backend applications and SQL


• Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG/a11y)


• Background in performance optimization and front-end architecture
