OUR COMPANY

PWO Canada is an automotive manufacturer that is located in Kitchener, Ontario. Main production is stamping, and MAG Welding.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Production Auditor performs all the inspection, documentation and filing duties in the Quality Department. The Production Auditor is responsible for performing inspection or auditing of stampings, finished assembled units, purchased parts and accessories to determine conformity to specifications which may include using various measuring and testing equipment; system audits such as Quality Management Systems related functions.

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The position reports directly to the Quality Manager. The position may receive work assignments from other Departments within the company.

The position interacts with personnel in production, quality engineering, tooling, project management, process engineering, logistics when documentation clarification is required or to solve problems and quality issues. Executes destructive and non-destructive testing for welding applications, and updates associated documentation. The incumbent must be able to prioritize and organize work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Diploma. Quality Assurance Certificate preferred, or in progress.

Knowledge and Skills: Ability to use measuring equipment including a CMM, micrometers, verniers, height gauges and Omnimet Macro Measurement Software. Understands inspection methods and procedures. Geometric dimensioning and tolerance preferred. Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.

Communication Skills Strong oral and written communication skills for normal business communication.

Nature and Length of Experience: One year experience in similar job and manufacturing environment preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs daily inspection workload.
  • Follows and performs to Quality Services procedures and work instructions reporting all non-conformances to the Production Supervisor and Quality Engineers.
  • Responsible for the documentation of assigned inspection requirements.
  • Proper use of electronic data collection equipment.
  • Responsible for stopping production lines when parts produced fail inspection.
  • Performs all duties within the 5S standards.
  • Follows and performs to the instructions as outlined in the Work Area Reference Manual(s) applicable to the quality requirements.
  • Follows and performs to the processes and instructions outlined in the Process House that are applicable to the quality requirements.
  • Performs the duties characteristic of the job environment as requested by the Quality Manager and/or Quality Engineers.
  • Compliance to all company HR policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for working safely, complying with safety policies and procedures, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) required in the designated areas as per company policy.
  • Responsible for working safely and keeping a safe work area for themselves and fellow employees. Reporting any unsafe working conditions, practices, and work-related injuries immediately to his/her Manager.
  • Any other job-related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor(s) and Manager.
