We are seeking a Cook to join Indian Cuisine Restaurant located in Burlington.
Indian Restaurant is looking for a responsible and hard-working member to join our kitchen team. If interested, apply with your contact number and work history.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare assigned food items by methods / procedures under the direction of a Chef.
- Plan quantities of ingredients required and assemble ingredients and equipment for cooking
- Experienced in making south dishes including Idli, Dosa & chutneys
- Prepare quality food within established production timeframes
- Should be comfortable working on tandoor
- Willingness to take ownership and work on inventory control, wastage and eagerness to learn
- Maintain a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a line cook, preferably in South Indian cuisine.
- In-depth knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques, spices, and flavor profiles.
- Ability to prepare both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
- Strong time management and multitasking skills in a busy kitchen.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from senior chefs.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and flavors.
- Possession of a valid Food Handler Certificate or equivalent certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Qualifications:
- Previous Cooking experience in Indian Cuisine
- 2+ yrs experience in Indian cooking
Nice to have
- Prefer experience in South Indian Cuisine.
