Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Maintenance Worker 5 to join the Plant Maintenance team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team

As a Maintenance Worker at Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in a variety of trades' areas such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding.
  • Perform maintenance and repair duties related to buildings and equipment and perform mechanical and electrical repairs to equipment and systems.
  • Participate on the Rapid Response Team and as a member of the Maintenance team.
  • Assist other team members in their duties to ensure a timely and complete delivery of service to our clients.
  • Act in various capacities, supporting maintenance in general terms.
  • Act as a customer service advocate, accelerating the resolution of customer concerns.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Grade 10, plus four (4) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Must have Valid BC Driver's license, unless specified in the posting.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

Closing Statement:

Class 5 Driver's License is required.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
