Truck Dispatcher

Priority Logistics Inc is a full-service asset based tucking company with multiple locations across Canada.
We are currently hiring a Dispatcher for Local P&D dispatch which includes, LTL and FTL shipments as well as Intermodal. The majority of the region includes GTA and surrounding area. The ideal candidate will have a background and experience in logistics and trucking.
Position: Dispatcher LOCAL WORK (Intermodal - CN / CP Rail) + local P&D
Responsibilities:
- Respond to driver and customer calls, emails, and inquiries.
- Dispatch truck drivers on various loads meeting appointment times for your pickup and delivery schedules.
- In a timely manner, plan and create the dispatch for the following day, assign and send to drivers according to the workload to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Communicate with other dispatchers and departments to ensure a smooth operation and all shipments are in transit on dedicated line hauls before cut off times.
- Monitor driver progress regularly using various tools at your disposal to ensure a smooth operation.
- Understand and apply Hours of Service (ELD) Regulations.
- Monitor and track all shipments are on time and report any delays or issues.
- Ensure maximum efficiency on route planning, sort and categorize shipments based on pick up and delivery locations, schedules, weights, and pallet counts.
- Required to monitor repairs and maintenance schedules for company equipment.
- Required to assist other areas of the operation to cover absences, vacation and illnesses, such as but not limited to:
Data Entry, Manifest Creation, Invoicing, Logging Traffic Violations, Operational incidents reporting, Other administrative duties, Document management, Tracking equipment, Load Planning and Equipment Management
Schedule
Flexibility is a must, weekend work will be required
Multiple Shifts are available, and rotation may be required:
Overnights - Monday to Friday
Mornings - Monday to Friday
