Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate nurse to join our foot care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality foot care. This role involves working in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home care environments.

  • Must have current registration with the CNO as an RPN or RN
  • Valid CPR/health care-BCLS
  • Must have valid private liability insurance (RNAO, RPNAO, etc.)
  • Must have valid drivers license and have regular access to a reliable vehicle
  • Foot care certificate an asset- can discuss experience and training opportunities
  • May be required to provide immunization records for certain work settings
  • This is a contract position for 1 year. Successful candidate will discuss mutually beneficial terms
  • Pay is determined by experience and equipment needs

Responsibilities

  • Assessment of the feet and lower legs
  • Basic foot care and referrals as needed
  • Maintain documentation using electronic system
  • travel between client homes or long term care, or retirement homes
  • Educate patients and families about foot health
  • Coordination with foot health team for specialized foot care advice
  • Understanding of dementia and working with those with dementia during care

Skills

  • Patient centered care is our first priority. Successful candidate must prioitize the client and their needs and provide personalized care based on client comfort
  • Experience in nursing foot care is an asset, on the job training will be provided for optimal continuity of care
  • Maintain infection control practices during and after care
  • Experience in home care and congregate living settings an asset but not required
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
