Laborer – Mi-Jack Operator

Weldco Heavy Industries a Division of McKay Metis Group (WHI) is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort MacKay Caribou Energy Park. Weldco Heavy Industries is currently recruiting for a Laborer - Mi-Jack Operator for the Fort MacKay location on a 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off rotation, 12-hour shifts. Reporting to the Shop Foreman your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

What you will do:

  • Operate gantry crane, overhead crane & forklift to facilitate movement of parts/products
  • Move parts and finished products to and from the shop and yard
  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure the correct parts are sorted appropriately
  • Maintain and organize areas, tag parts, store and locate parts
  • Follow work order directions and instructions given by supervisor
  • Perform other duties as required, such as sandblasting and painting

The role is to move parts and products between facility locations to enable an efficient flow of job orders and ensure production schedules are met. You will be frequently operating the forklift and using other mobile equipment.

Your qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Overhead Crane & Rigging, Forklift, Fall Protection and Elevated Work Platform certification and experience is preferred
  • Experience working in the elements
