Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist (Intern/Co-op) to join our Human Resources team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional HR environment while supporting various HR and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and eager to learn about all aspects of HR management and operations within a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee files and personnel records.
- Support onboarding processes, including preparing documentation and orientation materials.
- Help coordinate employee training and development programs.
- Perform filing, scheduling, and general administrative tasks to support the HR department.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of job descriptions and HR forms.
- Support records management and ensure confidentiality of all documentation.
- Prepare and update reports and spreadsheets as required.
- Contribute to employee engagement and communication initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities within HR operations.
- Perform general office administration tasks, including data entry, document preparation, and correspondence.
- Manage and organize electronic and physical filing systems to ensure easy retrieval of information.
- Prepare and format reports, forms, and internal communications with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Assist with document control and record retention in compliance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
