Lead Project Consultant

Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
This is a hands-on technical lead position where you will be responsible for sprinkler/suppression system design and alarm design or code consulting work. You will play a key role for clients in identifying cost effective solutions. A large part of the position will involve creating and reviewing drawings and preparing correspondence and technical reports. A smaller portion of your time will involve field reviews and attending meetings relative to equivalencies or assisting Certified Professionals with their field reviews. The successful applicant will mentor staff, interface with clients, lead projects, interpret the building code, develop solutions, prepare deliverables (reports and drawings), and coordinate with fire protection engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Engineering preferred
- At least 10 years of related experience
- Knowledgeable of Canadian (and/or other Canadian province) Fire and Building codes highly desirable
- A strong understanding of fire protection engineering principles
- The ability to lead others, manage projects and make presentations to small groups or teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Experience in developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, field reviews, and/or alarm system design experience would be an asset
