**Job Description**:
**Duties: Reporting to the Manager, Building Operations**
- While understanding time is of the essence, utilizes advanced experience _(see qualifications) _and skills to perform multifaceted preventive and routine maintenance tasks, plus corrective repairs to building systems, equipment, fixtures and furnishings. Monitors building system operations and performance. Experienced in trade skills such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, painting and welding. Assigns work, leads, mentors and monitors Maintenance 1 and 2 positions to ensure standards of Service Excellence.
- Repair and maintenance for all aspects of building operations systems and equipment such as, BAS, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety and security, etc.
- Deliver and/or supply: audits, cleaning, inspections, labour, painting, preventative maintenance, repairs, refurbishment and testing, etc. to ensure St. Pat’s maintains a clean, safe and secure environment that meets or exceeds compliances with legislated requirements.
- Ensures compliances with Maintenance related Acts, Codes and Regulations, i.e. Building and Fire Codes, OHSA, MLTC, PHIPA, etc.
- Conducts monthly fire and emergency procedures drills.
- Maintains inventories of maintenance parts and supplies.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Knowledge**:

- Certificate/ Diploma/Degree in Building Environmental Systems Operator Class 1, Building Operations, Building Sciences or Stationary Engineer 4th/5th Class or equivalent;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of a commercial, healthcare or industrial facility;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in physical plant operations; maintaining HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, life-safety and security systems, etc. and related equipment;
- Demonstrated competencies in reading and interpreting architectural/mechanical/electrical blueprints;
- Demonstrated competencies relating to building systems, emergency procedures, Fire Code maintenance requirements (Ontario Reg. 213/07); Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS;
**Other Competencies**:

- Fluent in English spoken and written;
- High-level communication, customer service and time management skills with abilities to re-prioritize work swiftly in order to deliver successful results within agreed upon time frames;
- Detail oriented, positive attitude and availability to work overtime and respond to emergencies;
- Adaptable to new ideas and change;
- Ability to work within the Mission of the Home
