Child Care and Farm Help

**Job Summary**
Are you an experienced and caring nanny looking for a full-time opportunity? Are you a lover of the outdoors and comfortable around live stock? Our family in Oro Medonte, Ontario is seeking a reliable and responsible individual to provide childcare for our infant. This is could be a live in position where you will be responsible for engaging with our little one, as well as potentially some light housekeeping, meal prep, but mostly helping tend to animals on the farm. We live on a farm and have various animals so looking for an individual who is also comfortable with large animals and willing to help with outdoor tasks as well. (We have over 60 animals on this farm). When our daughter isn't needing tending to (During naps or feeding), we are looking to find someone to help with yard work and caring for our farm animals. This means you must be comfortable with horses and other livestock as waters, feeding and other chores will be required as well. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and maintaining a clean and organized home. We are a very naturally minded family and like to do things in such ways. What is your experience with farm animals and being out in nature? We want our daughter raised to be outside as often as possible and hands on with the animals, playing in the dirt and learning how to be creative, think independently and grow up to be strong and not afraid to explore and take chances. It is important to us that we have someone here helping support the way we want our daughter raised. We are a conservative family and have specifics about how she is taught, disciplined and handled. We do not agree or follow a lot of this new age parenting and it's important to us that the person we bring into our home is like minded and able to help support us with this. We are looking for someone who can be kind, fun and loving while also teaching boundaries, consequences and the important of respect. This i believe is all taught from a very young age and I know not everyone is comfortable implementing this. We are wanting to raise a daughter to love the outdoors, animals and raise her to be independent and confident and outside as much as possible. It is important to us that we find someone who is able to raise our daughter the way we see fit. **Duties**
- Supervise and engage with children in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Be prepared to spend most of the time outside with the children introducing them to nature, animals and life on the farm while being safe
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare space, including play areas and materials.
- Assist children with basic tasks such as meals, hygiene, and dressing as needed.
- Spend time with the animals outside on the farm. Teaching the children how to interact safety and properly with the animals on the farm.
- Care for the horses and other livestock as far as extra feeding, cleaning and refilling troughs and preparing them for being handled
- Help maintain the farm property and gardens. Cleaning, raking, removing animal waste and replenishing bedding.

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in childcare or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with children and parents alike.
- Ability to maintain a nurturing environment while setting clear boundaries for behavior.
- Basic math skills for assisting children with learning activities.
- Mechanical knowledge is a plus for maintaining toys or equipment used in the childcare setting and for helping with small tasks around the farm.
- Familiarity with hand tools or power tools may be beneficial for managing outdoor play areas and things around the farm
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as needed when assisting young children or moving equipment.

We are also looking for an individual who would be interested in living on site in a separate unit, here on the property if this opportunity would be a good fit for you.

Pay: $17.50-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
