**Overview**
The Bakehouse is a sourdough bakery seeking to expand our offering and establishing our presence in the market as a go-to Bakery for all baked goods from bread to the most delicate pastries and desert. We are looking to build our team and seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bakery Assistant to join us. In this role, you will support the daily operations of our bakery by assisting with food preparation, baking, and customer service.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the preparation of our sourdough breads, and other baked goods, pastries, cakes, but also sandwiches and other foods depending on the market needs.
- Decorate cakes and other baked items according to specifications.
- Assist in developing new recipes.
- Ensure all food handling and safety standards are met during food preparation and storage.
- Package baked goods for display and sale, ensuring presentation meets company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and answering questions about products.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and bakery area.
- Support the head baker in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

**Skills**
- Experience in cake baking and decorating techniques is a preferred asset.
- Previous experience in a restaurant or bakery setting is a plus.
- Strong skills in food preparation and cooking methods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Experience working in a kitchen environment within the food industry.
- A passion for baking with attention to detail in all tasks.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship, Internship / Co-op

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 37.5 per week
