Multimatic Inmet is currently looking for a Buyer who will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to purchasing of goods, supplies and services, as well as participating in the negotiating and agreements.
- RESPONSIBILITIES:_
- Source and negotiate price and delivery for assigned MRO supplies and services. I
- Responsible for updating MRO order prices in SAP system.
- Work with other buyers and management to continuously develop the supplier base using tools such as VA/VE and long term agreements.
- Negotiate price with MRO supplier
- Familiar with the market price comparison process and identify MRO cost-saving opportunities through regular market price comparisons.
- Data entry and report generation for APQP purposes; e.g. customer and department purchase orders, quoting, FSS cost tracking, engineering changes, etc
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery issues (MRO and Production parts)
- with the materials team to address unexpected issues in the supply of production materials.
- Responsible for the procurement of production auxiliary products, including creating orders, sending purchase requests, and meeting production plan requirements.
- Responsible for SAP system specified data export and analysis.
- Work in compliance with ISO14001/IATF16949 standards.
- Works in compliance with all legislative requirements of the OHSA.
- QUALIFICATIONS:_
- 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive)
- College graduate with major in purchasing or materials management, actively working towards a Purchasing designation
- Demonstrated ability to work with Suppliers resulting in benefits to the organization
- Experience with the approval process of new vendor creation
- Good working knowledge of Purchasing and MRP system, preferably SAP
- Computer skills in the area of MS Office
- Excellent problem solving techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in a metal stamping, welded assembly environment would be ideal
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees in the organization, customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc
