**Purpose**:
**About the Role**:
As a trusted Advisor and Subject Matter Expert, you will have the opportunity to drive the following activities:
- Thought leadership internally and externally to BHP in future-facing commodities linked to global earth and mineral systems, including maintenance of a pan-commodity research roadmap and input and direction to external research collaborators and industry fora
- Specifically build nexus and exploit synergies between geoscience, resource engineering, and strategy teams to inform mineral commodity strategy and create competitive advantage in accessing future facing commodities
**Work Location**:
This role can be based in Perth, Australia or in Toronto, Canada.
**About You**:
In addition, to be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following:
- Postgraduate degree qualification in a geoscience related field
- Demonstrated high level of understanding of fundamental geoscience
- A passion for mentoring and coaching geoscientists
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts
